Overview

MapWeld (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a browser-based weld-tracking tool available at www.mapweld.app. Your privacy matters to us.

Data we collect

Project files stay on your device. Drawings, weld data, and .weldproject files are kept in the browser (session draft) and in files you download. They are not uploaded to our servers. If you create an account to export, we store the account details needed to sign you in (email and password hash, or Google account id).

Cookies

MapWeld does not use tracking cookies for the weld workspace. Signed-in sessions use authentication cookies. Project data is stored as a session draft in the browser and in .weldproject files you save. The service worker cache supports offline use in production builds.

Third-party services

MapWeld uses Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics 4 on marketing and public pages to understand how visitors use the site. Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies (for example _ga) to distinguish sessions and measure page views. The site is hosted on Vercel, which may log basic server access data (IP address, request timestamp) as part of normal operations.

Data retention

Your project data remains in your browser until you clear it. We have no access to it and cannot recover it if you delete it.

Children's privacy

MapWeld is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
